Week 19:
Week 19 is officially over. Below you will see the usual Cases and Fatalities Weekly Graphs. This week, I do not scale by population so that it is easier to see the magnitude of Texas's Surge. While all the attention is on Texas's Case Count going down for a few days in a row, there were a few events which may have contributed to this result: 1) it is the 4th week in the Rollback - and it is about time it shows up in the data; 2) labs are having trouble keeping up with the nationwide large test load with backlogs on the order of two weeks; 3) Bexar and Nueces Counties together cancelled out on the order of 7,000 "probable" cases; and, 4) Hurricane preparation/evacuation has seen a very large number of counties not reporting for the last two days. If the last reason is at all significant, expect high numbers early in the week to compensate.
