Are you ready for Week15? For simplicity, I will show that we are still in Phase 3 and make the change to new Restrictions next week. To begin, see the following table for the two Hospitalization Metrics I follow: Number of COVID-19 Patients Hospitalized and Available Number of ICU Beds. As expected, all regions show increases in the number of patients that go along with increased positivity (see next table under comments). Since the first week in June, the Gulf Coast has tripled the number of COVID-19 Patients. The Border, while smaller in absolute terms, has seen its count go up by more than a factor of 5. The Week15 results show an average (calculated from daily values obtained from the end-of-day DSHS Dashboard) along with min-max as either a superscript (patient) or subscript (ICU Bed). The max numbers correspond to values obtained late in the week while mins are at the end of last week. Gulf Coast Hospitals have been trying to keep their ICU Beds in the range of 350-360, with the exception of this weekend when they have fallen below 300. I should say that the DSHS does not list the hospitals in each of their 22 state sectors. In their Sources Tab, they say that there are eight "providers" who coordinate the information gathering. I do not know whether it includes the Texas Medical Center, or a hospital-by-hospital breakdown.
