Week 14:
I am here to report on the last 7 days (Week14) of Texas's COVID-19 data. Since last week, there have been many questions and request from followers. One person needed more detail on the dates corresponding to each Week. Another wanted to validate or at least compare my Statewide results to curves reported by CDC. The first you will see below; the second will be performed over the next few weeks despite the fact that I would prefer to use the individual regions and their statistics in lieu of a statewide average.
The first report is a Table of Hospitalization Demand in terms of COVID-19 Patients and Available ICU Beds. The numbers are end-of-week snapshots for each region. We will build on these next week to see how much variation there is from day-to-day. While the Border area was able to more than triple the number of COVID-19 patients without losing available ICU Beds, Central Texas and the Gulf Coast have kept ICU Bed Availability constant despite roughly the number of patients from 3 weeks ago. Only the Panhandle has more ICU Beds than COVID Patients.
